Here's my 'formula' for getting NFS on Linux working with Windows 7 Client for NFS. I have Windows 7 Professional, but the NFS Client for Windows is only included in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions. I would like to connect some Windows machines to our NFS server so I can drop the Samba Server we are currently using. FreeNFS is a NFS 2.0 and 3.0 Compliant Server for Windows. FreeNFSE is a NFS 2.0 and 3.0 Compliant Server for Windows to a Embedded System Client. Adding more protocols to better serve embedded systems and video streaming. Forums > Software, Hardware and General Services > other software & services. I've been looking for a free windows nfs client for ages but only the 2k3/2k8 servers had them but no longer. Installing the NFS client in Windows 7 is a breeze. Just add the nfs client and administration service in programs and features.
Before you get up-in-arms, Windows 7 does have a native NFS client, but it's only available to Enterprise and Ultimate editions. As far as I can tell, there's no way to install it to Pro, since MS hasn't made available any kind of installer.

There's also another open source project called Nekodrive, but it won't even run on my machine.
Has anybody managed this? I have to think I'm not the first to try it.

Used FreeNFS to stream video to a TViX after upgrading my PC to Windows 8.1. Works great and got me out of a tight spot as the vendor's NFS application was no longer available.
Lots of errors, doesn't work for me, can't copy the errors from the pop up box but it doesn't work in XP.

I installed FreeNFS on Windows 7 PC. But I am NOT able to connect to this server from other PC using native Windows 7 client. 'Network Error - 53' Please, help!
